Eighty-six antennas in 63 countries serve small and medium-sized Italian businesses looking to expand internationally. The Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad (CCIE, represented by Assocamerestero) are a global network spanning from Uruguay, where the first Foreign Chamber of Commerce was established in Montevideo in 1883, to Mozambique, where the last offices were inaugurated last year. More will follow in the following months, including in Ireland, Panama, and Uruguay. Assocamerestero's president, Mario Pozza, explains, "Our membership base and network continue to grow. Last year, the number of our members climbed by 20%, reaching 21 thousand among entrepreneurs and professionals, and we have additional applications for registration, so we anticipate further growth in 2024." The CCIE's operations in 2023 involved 160 thousand Italian enterprises, of whom 50 thousand received assistance and 18 thousand met new partners. The chamber's services have been mostly used by industrial sectors that represent Italian exports, ranging from agri-food to fashion, construction to furniture, mechanics to energy, and tourism.
