On the eve of the new season of events at the Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera, in the province of Brescia, which, after a series of major interventions designed to improve its usability, opens its new season from Saturday, 49 gold works from the temporary exhibition of the artist Umberto Mastroianni were stolen inside the museum dedicated to Gabriele D'annunzio on the night of March 6-7. The works - about 30 pieces of jewelry and 20 sculptures - were on display in the exhibition "Like a warm and flowing gold. The golds of Umberto Mastroianni". The exhibition opened on the 30th. The famous sculptor was the uncle of actor Marcello Mastroianni. On display at the Vittoriale were rings, bracelets, pendants, brooches, other jewelry, plates and sculptures made by the author between the 1950s and 1990s using the "lost wax" or "gold casting" casting technique.
