After discharging a 15-year-old girl who had arrived at the emergency room of Murri Hospital in Fermo, Marche, Italy, the doctor on duty went to her home the next morning, once he got off duty around 7 a.m., to inquire about her medical condition. Specifically, to check on a doubt about the need for hospitalization in neurology. The hospitalization was then arranged and - according to the local pages of the Resto del Carlino - avoided major consequences for the teenager. The young girl, in fact, had been suffering from spinal cord inflammation and needed to be taken care of by the department as soon as possible. The family had left the emergency room at 3 a.m. with the idea of leaving the next day to go to the hospital in Ancona.
