Sixty people died from burns, hunger, and thirst aboard a rubber dinghy that went unnoticed for a week despite screams for assistance. Bodies (including those of five children) were pitifully tossed into the infinite mass grave of the Mediterranean by those who survived. Women forced to say farewell to their children, men and women, and many young people who witnessed the deaths of their travel companions who had left Libya a week earlier. Wednesday, 25 survivors who were rescued aboard the Ocean Viking in Libyan SAR areas within international waters reported hearing horrifying accounts to SOS Mediterranée volunteers. All of them, who were in critical psychophysical condition, stated that they had seen planes and helicopters flying for days while on their adrift dinghy but had gotten no assistance. They have been without food and drink for several days. Thus, the Ocean Viking discovered someone unconscious in a stretch of sea that had gone unrescued for days due to the seizure of three other humanitarian ships in Italy, the Sea Watch 4 and 5, and the Humanity 1.
