Yesterday, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni visited Cairo together with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulidis, and Prime Ministers of Belgium Alexander De Croo, Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and Austria Karl Nehammer to strengthen the EU-Egypt strategic partnership. The bilateral talks focused on the implementation of the Mattei Plan in Egypt, particularly cooperation in the field of agricultural production and food security. During the talks, Prime Minister Meloni and President al Sisi agreed to establish a partnership between Italy and Egypt in the context of major agricultural and land reclamation projects, aimed at establishing a "model farm”, and transferring the most innovative Italian technologies in the sector to contribute to the nation's food security.
