The 107th Giro d'Italia was presented yesterday morning in the Sala dei Mosaici at the Farnesina and will begin this year on May 4 in Piedmont. "The Giro d'Italia is fundamental for the visibility it gives to our country, its villages and its cities all over the world - said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani - For us it is a fundamental event also as a support to the initiatives we are undertaking to relaunch the tourism of the roots, that tourism deriving from the return of Italians who live in other countries of the world and who, Thanks also to the Giro, they can see their places of origin again and maybe come back to visit them." The Minister of Foreign Affairs declared that he had entrusted the event with the strategic role of ambassador of Italian sport in the world, after notable sports leaders such as tennis star Sinner and national soccer coach, Luciano Spalletti.
