The Garisenda Tower, one of Bologna's two iconic towers, will be made safe thanks to the pylons previously used for the Tower of Pisa, suitably modified. This was made known by the Mayor of Bologna himself, Matteo Lepore, during a press conference dedicated to the renovation work and presentation of the project held yesterday. "The goal," he said, "is to do it soon, do it right and make the Garisenda Tower safe by 2024," thanks to these pylons "that will pull the Garisenda to prevent its eventual collapse" allowing the tower to be made safe. The alarm for the symbolic monument of the city of Emilia had been sounded for a few months, and the city administration proceeded to start the construction sites for the safety work: the solution chosen was, therefore, the reuse of the safety system used for the Tower of Pisa.
