The Chamber of Commerce initiates a groundbreaking initiative regarding the management of immigration in Milan. In light of the labor shortage identified in certain industries (primarily construction, commerce, catering, crafts, and logistics), the organization has determined to provide training to certain immigrants, enabling them to secure permanent employment in Italy. People will be recruited at Milan's hinterland reception centers, trained, and then directed to employment. The benefit is twofold: on the one hand, those who arrive may integrate; on the other, businesses are finding solutions to the supply of unfilled employment. The first 300 immigrants are already being recruited, starting with a base of 600 people, and training will begin on an experimental basis in the coming weeks. Foreign workers account for an increasing proportion of the overall number of hiring planned by Italian enterprises.
