Clash between the American Starlink and Telecom Italia. Starlink, owned by billionaire Elon Musk's SpaceX and which has already launched 5,500 satellites into orbit to spread the internet, accuses Italy's largest telephone operator of impeding the introduction of fast internet, potentially affecting services in Southern Europe and North Africa. The Bloomberg agency reported this, citing a complaint Starlink filed with the Ministry of Industry alleging that Telecom Italia has failed to comply with regulations requiring spectrum data sharing to prevent frequency interference for months. A spokeswoman for Tim disputes this "partial reconstruction of the facts, which does not take into account the ongoing discussions". Adolfo Urso, the Minister of Industry, acknowledges that a complaint has been lodged "for a few days already". The claim, which Telecom denies, is obstructionism against the American powerhouse. The fight between the two firms would have lasted some time. As a result of Starlink's moves, the company now has 2.6 million consumers worldwide. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni received Elon Musk on June 15. An hour and a half-long interview, followed by happy selfies proliferated on social media.
