Following the one against Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, the Chamber of Deputies rejected the motion of no confidence against Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè yesterday, with 121 votes in favor and 213 against. The minister wasn't present. The motion, tabled by the 5 Star Movement, concerns the Visibilia affair, in which the FDI exponent is being investigated on the basis of fraud against INPS, relating to alleged anomalies in the use of the redundancy fund in violation of Covid 19. "The subjective situation of the Minister of Tourism, in the light of the facts that have emerged, would be increasingly incompatible with the delicacy of the positions held, since Italy cannot continue to have a government whose members expose the country system to pernicious situations deriving from the mixture of public and private interests," reads the text of the motion. "It is essential that our country and its institutions are safeguarded, in their prestige and dignity, also through the dutiful principle of 'honourability' for those entrusted with public functions".
