Matteo Berrettini has won the ATP 250 tournament in Marrakech. In the Moroccan clay final, the Roman tennis player, who qualified for the draw due to his protected classification, defeated the Spanish top seventy Roberto Carballes Baena, the champion of the previous edition of the tournament, 7-5 6-2 after an hour and 46 minutes of play. In the first set, the Italian, trailing 3-1, quickly recovered the break disadvantage, then placed the critical paw in the eleventh game and closed the account in the following one after erasing three consecutive break points that would have taken the portion to a tie-break. The second set, on the other hand, was considerably less turbulent. Berrettini, having saved two break points in the second game, seized the Iberian's serve in the third and fifth games, thereby placing a substantial wager on the outcome of the match. Berrettini, who has had a difficult few months due to an ankle ailment, has won his ninth major victory, the first since June 2022, when he dominated the Queen's Club grass in London.
