In the past year, Italian kitchens have scored perhaps the highest attainable goal given the general economic situation i.e., to break even on exports compared to 2022, when the billion euro wall generated by foreign sales was breached for the first time. With stability at €1.036 billion in revenues from exports, the industry remained close to €3 billion in total sales, at 2.93 to be precise, which is significantly higher than pre-Covid. "Internationally, we are catching up with our historical disadvantage compared to our main competitors, which are the German manufacturers," said the director in charge of FederlegnoArredo's Kitchens Group, Edi Snaidero. "Today that gap is destined to close, because our companies are more flexible than the German ones in the design phase and strong in Italian image, quality and design". In addition, Snaidero noted, Made in Italy kitchen manufacturers have used all the possibilities offered by technology to interact in real time with international markets and have identified, market by market, the best partners in both the retail and contract channels, training technical staff specialized in assembly on site and transferring the know-how needed to operate worldwide efficiently.
