Italy's primacy on the UNESCO World Heritage List was confirmed in 2023, with 59 registered properties and 32 candidates for registration. Furthermore, Italy has been recognized for 20 Biosphere Reserves, 11 Geoparks, and 19 Intangible Cultural Heritage sites by 2023. All of Italy's regions are represented by more than one element in the various UNESCO inventories. Five additional Masaf traditional agricultural practices and historic rural landscapes have been added to the national registry. This is what we learn from the 11th edition of the Istat Bes Report on Fair and Sustainable Wellbeing.
