Palestine, Israel, and Ukraine, in the words and prayers of the Pope, once again, on the occasion of greetings after the Regina Caeli, recited from the window of the Apostolic Palace on a bright spring Sunday. His exhortation that the Middle East follow the diplomatic route and not yield to "the logic of vindication" is equally as potent as his profound concern and suffering. "I continue to be concerned and saddened by the situation in the Middle East. I reaffirm my appeal not to succumb to the logic of claiming responsibility for war, but rather to pursue the pathways of conversation and diplomacy, which can accomplish so much", stated the Holy Father. "I pray every day for peace in Palestine and Israel and I hope that those two populations will soon stop suffering". The urgent invitation is also to never forget another conflict-torn land, Ukraine, "which suffers so much".
