Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso met yesterday in Cairo with Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry, Ahmed Samirin, and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla. In the context of renewed revitalization of bilateral relations between the countries, Minister Urso focused on synergies related to the mining and critical raw materials sector. On this issue, in full consistency with the renewed European and Italian legislative framework aimed at achieving strategic and industrial autonomy, Urso gathered the full willingness of the Egyptian government to enter into bilateral agreements regarding cooperation both in the extraction of critical raw materials in Egypt and in the first phase of processing there, ensuring concrete returns in terms of investment and employment. To this end, they will proceed with a tight action plan that can bring concrete benefits to both countries. The ministerial delegations of the two countries will proceed to organize a bilateral workshop in the coming weeks, involving institutions, agencies and companies engaged in the sector.
