The European Parliament grants its final approval to the new Stability Pact. The directives for Europe's new economic governance were passed by 359 votes to 166, with 61 abstentions. The Chamber in Strasbourg was attended by 586 individuals. Shortly before, the House adopted the new rule's "preventive arm" (367 yes, 161 no, and 69 abstentions) and corrective arm (368 votes against, 166 no, and 64 abstentions). According to an analysis of the roll-call votes taken in the Strasbourg Chamber, four Italian MEPs voted in favor of the preventative arm of the new Stability Pact, which concerns the budget parameters that must be met in order to avoid deficit procedures. Everyone else abstained, was absent, or voted no. Lara Comi and Herbert Dorfmann of the EPP, as well as Marco Zullo and Sandro Gozi of Renew, voted in favour. Looking at the EP groupings, the EPP, Socialists, and Renew all voted yes, as did a major portion of the ECR group, beginning with the PiS's Polish delegation.
