A 41-year-old woman died in Bema, Sondrio province, in the Orobie Alps in Valtellina, after plunging into the sports facility area from the Fly Emotion aerial ropeway. The dynamics of the tragic accident remain to be clarified. At the facility, tourists seek breathtaking experiences via an aerial rope that takes them safely suspended in the air from the village of Bema to the other side of the mountain. The woman was flying hooked to the rope. According to initial information, once she reached maximum speed, about 120 kilometers per hour, almost at the end of the route, the woman would have slipped out of the harness and crashed from a height of twenty meters. There is speculation that the victim may have felt ill shortly before arrival, perhaps from a heart attack: she would then have made movements that resulted in her fall.
