According to the most recent WHO report (2022 data), Italy is fourth in Europe for childhood obesity prevalence, trailing only Cyprus, Spain, and Greece. Obesity affects over 40% of children and adolescents under the age of 19, with females accounting for 36% and boys for 43%. Marco Menichelli, the founder of the technology company Nevil, a renowned expert in IT security systems and Artificial Intelligence, and the CEO of Sirtlife, a renowned brand of health supplements, was motivated by alarming data to suggest the creation of a digital telemedicine platform that would utilize artificial intelligence to monitor the parameters of children, inform and respond to their parents, and suggest optimal health solutions that were also cost-effective. Menichelli's project is attended by significant professionals from the fields of medicine and cooking and yesterday, they were heard at the Parliamentary Commission for Childhood and Adolescence in Montecitorio as part of the fact-finding survey on eating disorders in childhood and adolescence and prevention strategies. The survey was conducted in collaboration with Mauro Serafini, full professor of Technical and Applied Dietetic Sciences at the University of Teramo, and Heinz Beck, Chef, PhD in Natural Bioenergy, and Scientific Director of the "Principe di Napoli" University Campus.
