As announced to Tg1 news, Carlo Conti will be the new artistic director and host of the Sanremo Italian Song Festival, picking up the baton from Amadeus. The decision came unanimously by top management, CEO Roberto Sergio and General Manager Giampaolo Rossi in consultation with Prime Time Entertainment Director Marcello Ciannamea. For the next two years, Conti will be at the helm of the most important national multimedia event organized by RAI broadcast and the City of Sanremo. “For the presenter, this is not a simple return to the Festival but a new challenge that, as a goal, has to continue to promote and enhance new trends, as he did in the three successful editions, from 2015 to 2017, which saw the launch of artists who are today protagonists of Italian music”, informs a note from Viale Mazzini, specifying that the artistic director “is already at work for a Festival with many surprises and novelties”.
