In the countryside of Locorotondo, in the Barese region of Italy, it was an afternoon of apprehension yesterday over the disappearance of an almost two-year-old boy. The little boy, who lives in a rural area, was playing not far from his home when, around 11 a.m., his mother realized he was missing. The woman, who has three other children, immediately raised the alarm. There was an immediate response from law enforcement and the townspeople. In the afternoon, the little boy was later found safe and sound in a street not far from the family home. The search was aided from above by the fire department's Drago helicopter and Navy assets. Nothing was left to chance: the slightest detail could have helped bring the little one home. A grove not far from the baby's family's cottage was searched, wells scattered across the countryside were scrutinized, and frame after frame, images from video surveillance circuits in the area acquired by investigators would be analyzed.
