Legendary feat of the Fairies of artistic gymnastics at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. At the Bercy Arena, the performance of the quintet composed of Manila Esposito, Alice D'Amato, Angela Andreoli, Giorgia Villa, and Elisa Iorio is moving as they achieve a fabulous silver medal, bringing women's Italy back to the podium in the overall five-round team competition after the other silver medal won by our country 96 years ago in the 1928 Amsterdam edition. The Italian champions, authors of the second best score in the qualifiers (166.861), were confirmed on the place of honor also at the end of the finals, closed with 41.665 on vault, 42.655 on uneven bars, 41.199 on beam and 39.965 on floor for a total score of 165.494. Better than the tricolor team were only the United States (171.296) while in third and fourth place were Brazil (164.497) and Great Britain (164.263), respectively, who in the fourth and final rotation tried in vain to undermine the second place occupied by Italy.
