A 26-year-old was rescued from death by an emergency liver transplant at Turin's Molinette hospital after suffering a heat stroke. The girl, from the Alba area (Cuneo), became ill near her country residence on a hot morning. She was discovered unconscious under a tree by family members and transported to Verduno Hospital, where she was diagnosed with an internal temperature of 41 degrees. After the vital functions were stabilized, fulminant liver failure ensued, necessitating the transplant.
