During a visit to Pompeii's remains, a 37-year-old English tourist etched his daughters' names and the date on the walls of Domus 5, the so-called "House of the Vestal Virgins". The carabinieri intervened after receiving a report from security staff. After being blocked by the military, the individual was reported for causing harm to the artistic heritage. The inscriptions on the left frescoed part near the entrance to the domus are the letters JW LMW MW in the upper part, and the date 07/08/24 in the lower part of the wall, below the inscription Mylaw. The man was reported to the public prosecutor's office at the Torre Annunziata court for causing damage to the artistic heritage, and the Prefecture of Naples was alerted to apply an administrative sanction.
