The mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, has signed two orders for the partial expulsion "ad horas" of the Vela Gialla and Vela Rossa of Scampia, the two structures set to be demolished. The ordinances were signed "for security reasons" and "because of the risks that threaten public and private safety". The two real estate units are owned by the Municipality of Naples and currently occupied. On July 23, for unknown causes, a balcony at the Vela Celeste collapsed, killing two people and injuring 13 others (one of these died a few days later).
