Restrictions are coming for immigrants in Italy on the purchase of mobile phones. In a law under consideration in the Chamber of Deputies and which will then have to go to the Senate's second reading, it is envisaged that among the documents to be provided to the operator to obtain a mobile phone, in addition to those of identity, non-EU foreigners must deliver "a copy of the residence permit in their possession". Without permission, therefore, no sim. And if you are convicted of substitution of person to sign the contract, the purchase is inhibited "for a period of six months to two years". Today, for 90 days, non-EU citizens cannot have permits. Other foreigners, fleeing their country and seeking protection, can remain without it for years.
