The first workers trained in Ghana arrive in Bergamo. The experiment was carried out by the construction and plant company CRS, which has been present in Africa for a decade. In Ghana he built two hospitals, a part of Parliament, a university camp and private villas. Covid, recalls the entrepreneur Stefano Civettini, CEO of the company, has blocked growth projects, payments have stopped, and the country has failed to honor its commitments. At that point, the Italian company had to make a choice: continue or close the African experience. However, many professionals were already trained, a shame not to go ahead. The idea was to continue in Ghana while keeping the company's headquarters active but at the same time to bring many workers to Italy, where it is difficult to find skilled workers. Engineers are easy to bring to Italy, they are professionals for whom obtaining a visa is quite simple, despite the fact that they come from non-EU countries. The problem arose for the workers, with low educational qualifications but with strong work experience. Thus, was born the idea of a local training. A few days ago, the CRS brought 16 young workers to Italy, who had already followed the first part of a training course in Ghana that also includes the linguistic bases of Italian. In Bergamo they will now continue, to complete two years of training not only professional, but also linguistic, cultural and social.
