When it comes to natural stone in the world, people still look to Italy. This is evidenced by data from the sector, which recorded an 11% growth in exports worth 3.1 billion euros in 2023. This has placed the country among the leading stone exporters globally, ranking first for machinery and technology in stone processing, second for processed natural stone, and third for the export of rough natural stone. The latter will be among the top products at Marmomac 2024, an international exhibition dedicated to the techno-stone supply chain to be held September 24-27 in Verona. Now in its 58th edition, this year's event will host 1,485 exhibiting companies and estimated visitor buyers from more than 130 countries. With its 12 pavilions covering 74,000 square meters, Marmomac will be the Made in Italy companies' showcase for international markets, first and foremost the U.S., which in the last decade has driven up sales from Italy by 56%, about 639 million euros in 2023.
