Milan's San Siro Stadium will not host the Champions League final in 2027. After months of waiting for a seemingly natural decision (San Siro's candidacy was the only one), the UEFA Executive Committee met in Prague and officially revoked the organization of the final scheduled for Milan in two seasons due to concerns about the facility's future. Andrea Abodi, Minister for Sport and Youth, describes the decision as "announced, because it is possible that the San Siro stadium will be renovated after the 2026 Olympics begin". On the other hand", says the minister, "Milan is the center point for Euro 32". In a release following the Executive's meeting, UEFA explains preference as follows: "Since the Municipality of Milan could not guarantee that the San Siro stadium and the surrounding areas would not be affected by works during the period of the 2027 Champions League final, it was decided not to assign the final to Milan and to reopen the candidacy process to name a suitable venue, with a decision expected by May/June 2025".
