The tax system in Italy is unfair. It is little or not at all, in the perception of 85% of the public, and this unfairness contributes to making the country increasingly unequal: for 71%, inequalities in Italy have increased in the last 5 years and are mostly economic in nature, but also in terms of access to services, especially health services. These are some of the data emerging from the survey conducted in September by the Demopolis Institute for Oxfam Italy, the results of which were presented yesterday in the Senate in the presence of numerous parliamentarians. The demoscopic research, carried out on a sample of more than 4,000 respondents representative of the Italian population, analyzed public perceptions and sensitivities on the issues of economic inequality and surveyed citizens' evaluations of the Italian tax system and the degree of support for a series of measures to combat economic and social gaps.
