It's five years old for Fidia, which, despite the difficulties in the automotive sector, is growing thanks to clients such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Volkswagen, BMW and Mercedes, up to electric newcomer Tesla. The company, based in Cinisello Balsamo, in the Milan area, is involved in the design and installation of painting systems. It guarantees sustained production rates, with deadlines under a minute per vehicle or in many cases even less time. It is able to guarantee the painting of sixty vehicles per hour. Fidia - which today has 80 employees in Italy, branches in France, Germany, Croatia and India, and the production plant in China controlled by parent company Jiangsu Changhong Intelligent Equipment - will close the year with $50 million in revenues. "The industrial plant engineering market in the automotive sector," the managers explain, "has always been very internationalized, but we noticed the presence of an unattended niche, namely the revamping of painting plants according to today's needs for productivity and environmental sustainability, and here we are. A challenge against time that is accompanied by a constant commitment to fight energy waste: a traditional plant can get to consume 20 million euros of electricity per year, we now manage to halve these costs by, for example, reusing heat, recovering gasses and reusing wastewater by applying circular economy logics". Fidia's future will continue to be Italian: "We want to continue the expansion process in the coming years, exceeding 200 employees in Milan and aiming to open new industrial divisions.”
