A firm in the Pineto industrial district of Teramo province was yesterday impacted by a large-scale fire. The company makes solvents and thinners. A massive cloud of black smoke can be seen from tens of kilometers distant. The local police have asked residents to stay at home. In adjacent Roseto degli Abruzzi, the municipality has also requested that residents keep their windows closed. Rescuers reported no injuries. When the company's employees saw the flames, they would have instantly evacuated the structure. Some witnesses said an explosion preceded the flames.
