"Our initiative was very much felt by the Italian community: we recorded a great demonstration of affection, warmth, interest, enthusiasm”. Thus stated Giovanni Maria De Vita, head of the Roots Tourism Project at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during his visit to Buenos Aires for the 28th Feria Internacional de Turismo de América Latina (FIT 2024). The Italea project, a program to promote Roots TOURISM created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) as part of the NRRP initiative and supported by NextGenerationEU, was presented at the FIT. "Italea", said De Vita, "is the missing project that will bring Italian communities around the world closer to Italy. It is a highly well-articulated project. The expedition here was made feasible with the collaboration of multiple realities. We expect to enjoy the same welcome and engagement in Melbourne and New York". "Days like this”, he added, "tell us that we are moving in the right direction”.
