A 24-year-old hacker was arrested by the Postal Police for repeatedly breaking into the computer systems of the Ministry of Justice and other major companies. The hacker, an IT employee, had the skills to lock down systems. The arrest was served at the end of a lengthy investigation coordinated by the National Anti-Mafia Directorate and the computer crimes pool of the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office. The 24-year-old, originally from Gela, also managed to acquire investigation files covered by investigative secrecy. Among the systems hacked were those of the Guardia di Finanza, TIM, and Telespazio. The 24-year-old is charged with aggravated abusive access to facilities and dissemination of malware and software programs in conspiracy with unknown persons. Postal Police arrested the young man on Tuesday afternoon and carried out a search overnight, seizing a massive amount of data that is now available to investigators.
