More and more government servants at the European level, becoming increasingly detached from Italian politics (and its disputes). After being tasked by EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen with writing the Report on the Future of the European Single Market, Enrico Letta has decided to resign from his position as a politician in order to devote himself full-time to study and political development. The former prime minister and former secretary of the Democratic Party (he led the party in the most recent political elections, with a progressive camp divided into three sections), has been appointed dean of the IE School of Politics, Economics, and Global Affairs, the highly specialized school of the IE University (Instituto de Empresa) in Madrid, and will take office on November 20. "As I announced the day after the elections, I'm returning to my university work", writes the former premier in X. I will maintain my obligations in accordance with this position, commencing with the Delors Institute. However, I will abdicate from Parliament, which necessitates my complete dedication", he concluded.
