On the occasion of the Year of the Italian Roots in the World, a rich program of events dedicated to celebrating Italian traditions, culture, and roots will take place in New York. From October 10 to 14, Italea - the program promoting Roots Tourism, launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as part of the PNRR project and funded by NextGenerationEU - will be at the center of a series of initiatives, including concerts, exhibitions, conferences, and masterclasses, aimed at raising awareness of the project among Italians abroad and Italian descendants eager to explore the places and traditions of their origins. Roots Tourism aims to help people discover culture, rituals, and traditions while promoting locations that are not tourist hotspots. The project involves over 800 small Italian municipalities, which were selected as winners of the call for proposals for the realization of cultural activities for Italian descendants.
