"Safety at work is a permanent priority for the Republic". This is the message President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella sent yesterday to the National Association among Workers with Disabilities at Work (ANMIL). "Today Italy turns its thoughts to the people who have lost their lives or suffered injuries and illnesses due to their work. Today is a day of reflection, remembrance and renewed commitment," added the Head of State. "Every life lost, every life compromised calls for a choral commitment to prevent further loss of the health and dignity of those who work. Ensuring safe working conditions means respecting the life and value of each person, because work is a place of personal growth and fulfillment and cannot be a risk to one's safety," Mattarella stressed, "I renew today the Republic's closeness to the families of those who have lost a loved one due to accidents at work and a heartfelt appreciation to the activities of ANMIL, which for decades has contributed to promoting the culture of safety, giving a voice to victims and providing support to their families in times of great difficulty. Work and safety are inseparable rights".
