After months of conflict, the European Union grants a truce to X. The European Commission has decided that Elon Musk's social network will not have to comply with the strict requirements of the Digital Markets Act, which aims to promote fairer competition in the digital market and limit monopolistic practices of large companies in the sector. In its assessment, the EU acknowledged that X does not meet the criteria to be considered one of the 'major' companies designated as 'gatekeepers,' which must comply with the new European regulations. Currently, the giants subject to DMA supervision include the U.S.-based Google, Apple, Meta, Amazon, and Microsoft, China’s ByteDance (TikTok), and South Korea’s Samsung.
