The expansion of Hyatt Hotels Corporation passes through Rome. The first Hyatt Regency in the capital will open next year, marking the company’s seventh property in Italy. Since 2019, the multinational company, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, has opened several luxury hotels under different brands in Florence, Milan, Murano (Venice), and Rome, as well as a resort in Sardinia. The new hotel in Rome, resulting from the conversion of an existing hotel, will be located near the Termini train station and aims to attract both tourists and business travelers with 238 rooms and a rooftop featuring a pool and restaurant. But Hyatt's strategy is already looking ahead. "We don't yet have the same presence in Rome as our competitors, so we want to expand our portfolio there. Ideally, we'd add another five or six properties”, explains Felicity Black-Roberts, head of Hyatt's brand development in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). "We have brands that cover different market segments, so we could open in various parts of the city, as we’ve done in London”. With its 14 million tourists in 2023, the capital is certainly an important location.
