A train conductor was stabbed and injured yesterday during a ticket check on a regional train traveling between Genoa and Busalla. The attack occurred near Rivarolo station. The victim, a 40-year-old man, was rescued and transported in code red to the hospital. He sustained two injuries to his side, fortunately not serious, as they did not injure any vital organs. Carabinieri, after collecting descriptions of the attackers, surrounded the station area with several patrols and detained a foreign couple of North African origin, believed to be responsible for the attack. In response to the incident, the trade unions Filt CGIL, Fit CISL, Uiltrasporti, UGL Ferrovieri, Fast Confsal and Orsa Trasporti immediately called an 8-hour strike for Trenitalia, Trenitalia Tper, FS Security, Italo NTV and Trenord railway staff for today.
