A 12-year-old girl stabbed a classmate in the schoolyard in a town near Rome. After injuring him, the girl ran away and shortly after contacted carabinieri in tears, who found her sitting on a sidewalk near the institution. The act would appear to be related to school matters: according to the girl, the companion allegedly "snitched" on an assignment, informing a teacher. However, investigators are looking into whether there are other motivations behind the incident. The 12-year-old girl allegedly used a kitchen knife, which was found by military personnel who responded to the scene. After the attack, the principal and school staff provided first aid to the boy, who sustained minor injuries to a hand and chest.
