An illegal chauffeur was arrested for kidnapping, private violence and extortion after being caught looking for customers at Fiumicino Airport. At the sight of local police, the man attempted to flee at full speed, taking a U.S. tourist with him and abandoning the woman's husband in front of the airport. The chase ended on the Via Aurelia, where the driver dumped the 63-year-old woman, also demanding payment for the ride. The man had lured the newly arrived tourist couple, heading with them toward the vehicle. As soon as municipal police officers noticed the car, the driver fled, taking the woman and her luggage with him. Police officers, engaged in surveillance services at the airport, however, managed to track down the man, for whom sanctions for abusive renting were triggered, along with the initiation of procedures to detain the vehicle and related suspension of the vehicle registration card.
