SolidWorld Group, a Treviso-based company, leader in industrial design and 3D printing technologies, has shipped the Electrospider 3D Bioprinter to one of New York County's largest hospitals. Once in operation, starting with cells developed by patients, the New York hospital will use Electrospider's cutting-edge technology to print complex human tissues that will then be implanted into patients. Electrospider, covered by a patent with global reach, is the first multiscale, multi material 3D bioprinter used not only in biomedical and oncology, but also in pharmacology and cosmetics, for replicated tissue testing. "Thanks to our well-established know-how, Electrospider technology," commented President and CEO Roberto Rizzo, "will be used overseas to develop a biological twin of hospital patient tissues. In addition, passing the rigorous tests required by the U.S. healthcare system attests to the value of this innovative platform, which is destined to transform the future of biomedical and other technological fields”.
