In a global climate of modest recovery in energy consumption and price stabilization, despite the presence of macroeconomic uncertainty, 2024 was a year of significant investment for Italian energy operators in response to current difficulties, particularly the energy transition. Overall, the big national players invested €20.5 billion in 2024, a significant increase from the previous year. These are some of the main conclusions from AGICI's CFO Utilities Conference, which took place in Milan. Multi-utility investments increased significantly in 2024, reaching around 6.3 billion euros, 47% higher than in 2023. A trend that, according to predictions, will continue in the years 2025-2030, with around 26.5 billion in total investments planned, including 16.3 billion for the three-year period 2028-30. Energy companies, on the other hand, invested almost 7.5 billion euros in the fiscal year recently concluded, representing a 4.2% rise.
