There is a shortage of 100,000 foreign farm workers in Italy. Of these, just over half will be able to come to Italy thanks to immigration laws that set quotas: the decree reserves 47,000 spots through agricultural associations, to which must be added a portion of the 26 thousand free demand places that agriculture must share with the tourism sector. And the others? It is true that they will be foreign workers; however, they will be arriving from other EU countries, for which a visa is not necessary for entry into Italy. Despite an increase in the quotas for non-EU workers for the 2023-2025 period, companies have so far been unable to bring in the country all the workers they requested.
