In 2024, the restaurant industry recorded a 0.7% growth in turnover, despite a slowdown in the economy. According to an analysis by the FIPE-Confcommercio study office, the figure is the result of two distinct phases: a first part of the year with a positive trend, followed by a decline in the following months, aided by a lackluster summer season. In December 2024, the industry's turnover posted a real increase of 1.1% compared to the same month of the previous year. However, the overall result has to be read in the context of a complex economic picture, characterized by the crisis in manufacturing, difficulties in the construction sector, and subdued growth in the entire service sector, which stopped at +0.3%.
