According to the annual "World's Best Hospitals" classification published by Newsweek, the Niguarda hospital in Milan is the best hospital in Italy and ranks 37th globally. This award is the result of a study involving more than 2,400 hospitals from 30 nations. American clinic Mayo, which is renowned for its excellence in the health sector, occupies the first position in the classification. In Italy, the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome is ranked second domestically and 44th globally. This hospital has recently gained attention as it is currently hosting Pope Francis. This is followed by San Raffaele and Humanitas, both of which are located near Milan and rank 54th and 61st in the globe. These findings emphasize the relevance and quality of the Italian healthcare system, which is gaining international attention.
