"The night was peaceful, and the Pope is still resting." This is the brief morning message from the Holy See Press Office, providing an update on Pope Francis, who is now on his 21st day of hospitalization at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital due to bilateral pneumonia.
Last night, the medical bulletin described his condition as "stable," with no "episodes of respiratory failure," though the prognosis remains reserved given the "complexity" of the clinical picture.
Meanwhile, yesterday evening, a Rosary prayer for the Pope’s health was held in St. Peter’s Square, led by Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints. "Let us pray together with the whole Church for the health of the Holy Father, Francis. May the Virgin Mary, Salus Populi Romani, support him in this moment," said the cardinal at the beginning of the Holy Rosary.
