The new Formula 1 season has yet to begin, but the enthusiasm around Ferrari is already skyrocketing. Lewis Hamilton's arrival has prompted comparisons to 1996, the year of Michael Schumacher's arrival, fueling high expectations for the Maranello team's future. Frederic Vasseur, the team principal, expressed his confidence about Hamilton’s coexistence with Charles Leclerc, stating: "They have great motivation, they are demanding, and they push the team to the limit. Internal competition between drivers is fundamental for performance". In addition, Vasseur is of the opinion that Hamilton's presence can alleviate Leclerc's stress, thereby enabling him to concentrate more on himself and learn from a champion of Hamilton's magnitude. Despite the euphoria, Ferrari is keeping a quiet profile as it awaits the first races to assess the SF-24's potential. "We had a successful season last year; however, there is still room for improvement. "The initial four or five races will be significantly different, which will make it challenging to draw immediate conclusions", Vasseur explained. The purpose, however, is clear: compete for the title. Ferrari, Red Bull, McLaren, and Mercedes appear closer than ever, and the season might be one of the most competitive in recent years. "We have two top riders who can both win. Whether we can fight for the World Championship title will become clear in the second half of the season. But our goal is to return to winning", Vasseur concluded.
