Last year, direct luxury tourism spending in Italy, recorded by 5-star and 5-star luxury hotels, amounted to more than 9 billion euros, accounting for 16.8% of the country's total hotel supply, estimated at just over 54 billion euros. And on the podium of this luxury tourism ranking goes Lazio. This is the result of research conducted by the Demoskopika Institute. Between 2008 and 2024, the luxury tourism segment experienced significantly higher average growth than the hotel sector as a whole. Specifically, presences in hotel facilities increased by an average of 5.2% annually, while in 5-star and 5-star luxury hotels growth reached 9.2% annually, almost double the industry average.
