The Municipality of Milan is continuing the process of determining the future of the San Siro stadium after receiving a dossier of interest from Inter and Milan for the purchase of the area and sports facilities. The city council has approved a resolution establishing parameters for the continuation of activities. In the upcoming 30 days, a notice will be published to solicit any expressions of interest, including alternatives to the clubs' proposal. The goal is to assess possible proposals for the regeneration of the neighborhood, the construction of a new stadium, or the redevelopment of the current facility, with interventions aimed at improving environmental quality and providing additional functions to support the structure. The Revenue Agency has estimated the value of the area and the stadium, which is now named after the legendary championship athlete Giuseppe Meazza, at 197 million euros. The stadium will be classed as a service of public interest and regulated by a particular agreement, with a building index of 0.35 sqm/sqm, in accordance with the Territorial Government Plan. The Municipality also announced the creation of an interdepartmental working group and the launch of the Services Conference, which will assess the technical aspects of the clubs' plan and its compatibility with the council's resolution issued in January 2023.
